    Little Architects - Junior Camp
Join us for summer 2026 at our day camps with fun weekly themes and amazing field trips

Fun activities during summer camp in Toronto

In this hands‑on, imagination‑powered week, campers step into the world of architecture, engineering, and city design. Through daily building challenges, creative problem‑solving, and collaborative projects, campers learn how structures stand, how cities grow, and how design shapes the world around us. From blueprints to bridges, they’ll explore real engineering concepts in fun, collaborative ways — all while building confidence, teamwork, and big ideas. The week ends with a showcase where campers present their final creations and celebrate their achievements as budding architects and engineers.

Our field trip this week is to Little Canada, where we’ll get to see the buildings and cityscapes across Canada from a bird’s eye view.

Sample schedule for our summer camp

    * above is a sample schedule which is subject to change. While all the activities listed will happen that week, they will not happen in this exact order, including the field trips. Field trips usually happen on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays.

    Foundations & Engineering Basics

Campers kick off the week by exploring what makes buildings strong, stable, and safe. Through mini‑challenges using blocks, cardboard, and everyday materials, they test how different shapes and supports hold weight. They’ll learn about real‑world engineering principles like load, balance, and tension in a fun, approachable way.

    Blueprint Masters

Today is all about planning like real architects. Campers learn how to read and sketch simple blueprints, including floor plans, elevations, and symbols. They’ll design their own dream room or tiny house, thinking about layout, flow, and function. They work in teams to turn their blueprints into models, bringing their ideas to life.

    City Builders & Urban Planners

Campers zoom out from individual buildings to explore how entire cities are designed. They’ll learn about zoning, transportation, green spaces, and how cities grow sustainably. Working in groups, they design a model “Future City,” deciding where homes, parks, schools, and transit should go. The day wraps with a collaborative build session where their city starts to take shape.

    Bridges & Big Structures

This day focuses on the engineering behind bridges, towers, and other large structures. Campers experiment with different bridge types — arch, beam, suspension — and test how each handles weight and movement. They’ll work in teams to build a bridge that spans a set distance and can hold as much weight as possible. Expect lots of cheering during the final strength test!

    The Grand Build Challenge

Everything comes together in a full‑day design‑and‑build extravaganza. Campers choose a challenge — redesign a city block, build a theme‑park attraction, or create a mega‑structure — and plan it using the skills they’ve learned. They sketch, prototype, build, test, and refine their creations with the help of their peers. The week ends with a showcase where teams present their projects and celebrate their creativity and engineering skills.
