Reducing Waste
One of the easiest ways to protect the environment is to reduce the amount of waste we produce. We will teach campers the importance of reducing our waste by reusing, repurposing and recycling, and how to avoid unnecessary waste by opting for reusable options instead of single-use items like plastic bags, plastic bottles, plastic straws, etc.

Saving Energy
Another way to protect the environment is to save energy. This means turning off lights, appliances, and devices when they are not in use, or walking and riding your bicycle whenever possible. Simple choices that our children can make to reduce their energy footprint.

Conserving Water
Water is a precious resource that we often take for granted. However, water scarcity and pollution are serious problems that affect many people and ecosystems around the world. This week in our camp we will share examples on how to save water by taking shorter showers, or collecting water left in glasses and bottles to water plants.

Protecting Wildlife
Wildlife is an essential part of the environment, and it provides many benefits to humans, such as pollination. On this week at our camp, kids will learn about initiatives to protect local wildlife like bees, butterflies and birds, and how they can support these in their neighborhoods.

Taking Action
The most important things that kids should learn about how to protect the environment is to take action. This means not only doing the things mentioned above, but also spreading the word, educating others, and joining or starting initiatives that aim to make a positive difference. It also means being informed, curious, and critical about the environmental issues that affect us and our planet.
